Please, somebody shoot me if I ever read another book in this series.Stephanie Plum was cute in a stereotyped ditsy way for the first couple books. But by book 18 I really expect her to learn at least one little skill as part of her job. Just one. Anything. Making the same mistakes over and over again is not cute. It's no longer funny. It is just annoying.

A guilty pleasure - what can I say? You can read this in two hours or so; if you've read the other books in the series you won't be surprised by anything that happens. It's simply a fact that botched arrests and exploding cars never get old.

Four big laughs, about 10 other funny scenes, maybe 20 additional appreciative chuckles. I admit it: I like this series. The Plum character was marginally less incompetent this time around; a plus.
On the down side, the writing seemed a little stilted and formulaic this time, but Evanovich still knows how to write a funny scene, and that's good enough for me.
