STEP 1: To erase all controls:

Press and hold the learn code button until the red LED stops blinking. This process will take approximately 10 seconds. This will render all remote controls and your optional external wireless keypad inoperative.

STEP 2: To reprogram your new and/or existing remote controls:

Press and release the learn code button on the receiver, while the red LED is blinking, press your transmitter button 3 times. This will lock in a new code and you will be able to use your remote controls normally. Repeat this process for each additional remote control you have.

To reprogram your existing Intellicode Wireless Keypad. Press and release the learn code button on the receiver, while the red LED is blinking, open the cover on your wireless keypad, press the same personal pin number that you originally programmed and press the SEND button 3 times (see below). This will allow you to use your keypad normally.

To reprogram your KEP-1:

  1. Unplug the transformer for 2 minutes, this will reset the board and erase old code.
  2. Place the set / run switch to SET (found inside main interface box)
  3. Chose your pin number (1 to 8 numbers or letters). Do not use the * in your pin. Enter chosen pin.
  4. Press * button once to lock in pin number.
  5. Move the set / run switch to RUN. Programming is complete.

Note: The Genie KEP-1 keypad set will remember a code for 30 seconds and will activate at the touch of any button. This is a "panic" feature for safety in case the unit is activated and someone (or something) gets in the path of the door.

Resetting your keypad

If, at any time, during programming, you should enter the wrong PIN or make a mistake, you should reset the keypad to its factory setting.

  1. Open the keypad cover half way
  2. Press and hold the number 8 and the PROG buttons while opening cover fully.
  3. The indicator light will blink once and go out.
  4. Close the cover. You are now ready to re-program your keypad.

Basic Programming

  1. Open cover fully Indicator will blink once on go out
  2. Press 3-5-7
  3. Press PROG Indicator will blink once per second
  4. Enter PIN 1 (up to 8 digits)
  5. Press PROG Indicator will blink twice per second
  6. Close cover. Your keypad is now ready to be programmed to the garage door opener.
  7. Locate the Learn code button on your Intellicode/CodeDodger garage door opener.
  8. Depending on model, the learn code button will be located under the light cover or on the rear panel.
  9. Press the learn code button Learn code LED will flash
  10. Open cover on keypad fully
  11. Enter PIN number
  12. Press the SEND button 4 times, or until the door begins to operate.
  13. You will now be able to use your wireless keypad normally.

Controlling a single door with your keypad

  1. Open keypad fully
  2. Press PIN number
  3. Press SEND once
  4. Door should operate normally

NOTE: As a "panic" feature this keypad will operate door for up to 30 seconds from any button.

Programming multiple doors with your keypad

  1. Program your keypad according to the steps outlined in the Basic programming section listed above.
  2. Open cover fully
  3. Enter PIN number
  4. Press PROG Indicator will blink once per second
  5. Press PROG Indicator will blink twice per second
  6. Press PROG indicator will blink three times per second
  7. Enter the total number of doors (2 or 3)
  8. Press PROG
  9. Close cover
  10. Your keypad is now ready to be program to the garage door openers.
  11. Locate the learn code button on your garage door openers
  12. Press the learn code button once Learn code indicator will flash
  13. Open cover on keypad fully
  14. Enter PIN
  15. Press SEND
  16. Enter door number 1-2-or-3
  17. Press send button 4 times, or until door operates
  18. Repeat these steps for door 2 and 3

Controlling multiple doors

  1. Open cover fully
  2. Enter PIN number
  3. Press SEND
  4. Enter door number (1-2-or 3)
  5. Chosen door should operate

Adding PIN 2

  1. Open cover fully
  2. Enter 1-5-9
  3. Press PROG Indicator will blink once per second
  4. Enter PIN 2 (up to 8 digits)
  5. Press PROG Indicator will go out
  6. Close cover
  7. Your keypad is now ready to be programmed to the garage door opener. See steps in Basic programming.

Adding temporary PIN

  1. Open cover fully
  2. Enter PIN 1
  3. Press PROG Indicator will blink once per second
  4. Press PROG Indicator will blink twice per second
  5. Enter temporary PIN
  6. Press PROG Indicator will blink three times per second
  7. Close cover
  8. Your keypad is now ready to be programmed to the garage door opener. See steps in Basic programming.

Canceling the temporary PIN

The temporary PIN will remain active until PIN 1 is entered.

Changing a PIN

  1. Open cover fully
  2. Enter PIN to be changed
  3. Press PROG. Indicator will blink once per second
  4. Enter new PIN
  5. Press PROG
  6. Indicator will blink twice if PIN 1 has changed or go out if PIN 2 was changed. Close cover.
    • Your keypad is now ready to be programmed to the garage door opener.
  7. Locate the Learn code button on your Intellicode/Codedodger garage door opener. Depending on model, the learn code button will be located under the light cover or on the rear panel.
